The
Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta is organized by the Antigua Yacht Club
(AYC) and will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing
with amendments found in this program and within the Sailing Directions.
Objective: To encourage owners and crews of classic
and traditional yachts to sail alongside each other on courses designed
to be without the tight quarters of other events, so that racing is
fun and safe for hard-to-manage and older vessels of any size. The
emphasis is on sailing together rather than on racing, as well as
on the enjoyment of the ideal conditions of the Caribbean Sea.
Entries: Make sure that you are entering a classic
boat! An Official Entry Form is available from the Antigua Yacht Club,
and is available to entrants who have been accepted by the Committee
either verbally or in writing. If the vessel is unknown to the Committee,
a Pre Entry Form must be read, completed, and accepted by the committee,
before an Entry Form will be issued. All measurements are to be supplied
by the captain or owner on the Entry Form before a rating will be
issued at the skippers briefing. Please note that the Spirit of Tradition
Class does require a full and currant CSA measurement certificate.
Contact the committee for details.
All Entry Forms must be handed in to the Antigua Yacht Club secretary
no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 14th of April. For rating
purposes, we appreciate your entering as soon as possible.
Registration: All captains must register at the AYC
between April 13th and 14th, to confirm arrival and to receive important
information and Sailing Instructions.
Fee: US$4 per foot of the length on deck, a 5% discount
for CSA members,
payable with submission of the Entry Form.
To encourage early entries, there will be a discount for completed
entry forms received before April 1st.
