ACYR 2000 Race Information

The Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta is organised by the Antigua Yacht Club and will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing with amendments found in this programme and within the Sailing Directions.

OBJECTIVE: To encourage owners and crews of classic and traditional yachts to sail alongside each other on courses designed without the tight quarters of other events, so that racing is fun and safe for hard-to-manage and older vessels. The emphasis is on sailing together rather than on racing, as well as on the enjoyment of the ideal conditions of the Caribbean Sea.

ENTRIES: Make sure that you are entering a classic boat! An Official Entry Form is available at the Antigua Yacht Club, and is available to entrants which have been accepted by the Committee either verbally or in writing.

If the vessel is unknown to the Committee, a Pre Entry Form must be read, completed, and accepted, by the committee, before an Entry Form will be issued. All measurements are to be supplied by the captain or owner, on the Entry Form, before a rating will be issued at the skipper's briefing.

All Entry Forms must be handed in to the Antigua Yacht Club secretary no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday 19th of April. For rating purposes, we would appreciate you enter as soon as possible.

REGISTRATION: All captains must register at the AYC between 18th and 19th April, to confirm arrival and to receive important information and Sailing Instructions. This applies even if your entry form has previously been completed and accepted.

FEE: US$3.50 per foot of the length on deck before the 1st April. To encourage early entries the fee will increase to US$4 per foot after the 1st April. A 5% discount is available to members of CSA member clubs. Payment is due with the fully completed entry form.
